Well, the job is going ok so far. I found out Wednesday that I am actually going ot be the church secretary and am going to have a part time assistant. That may be kind of cool. The lady that I was taking her place left yesterday and she was supposed to stay til Friday. And the girl that is training me was not there today and won't be there tomorrow either. So I had 3 days training and then had it by myself. It wasn'tso bad though. The one that is training me was the one I am actually replacing.
She does home health for her mother and it is too much for her to do the church business too. She will still be my supervisor, and the Pastor's personal secretary, though.
The no personal calls thing is a little bit hard to get used to, but I can text some. Not much and not when there is anyone around, mostly just supposed to text Cindy, the girl training me.So far everyone seems to be pretty nice.
I have the full charge secretary position for the church and it's finances plus the daycare finances. I am definately going to ask for a raise as soon as I think it is safe to. That is way too much work for $7.50 an hour.
No Brandi, they don't go quite so far as electronic confiscation. Not that I know of anyway. LOL
Jason Nadaskay has an appointment with Pastor Jordan next week. I thought that was kind of cool.

Praise God, I got a job!!!
Okay, are you ready for this??
The church that hired and fired me all in the same day called back this morning and wants me to start to work there today. I have some mixed feelings about it, but I am going to take the position on Faith. The lady called back and said the girl gave them a 2 week notice after all.
The lady that works there is someone I already knew from my last job. She was one of our customers at Cowboy Homes several years ago. Well after they told me I din't have the job at the church she asked me if Mike could look at their house because they were having some issues that insurance is taking care of so we are getting that job too.
God is so good

Hired and fired all in the same day....
Well, I went to my 2nd interview Monday. It went well.
Tuesday I was waiting to hear from the paper and a job I had applied for a month ago called back. This was for a secretary position at a church here in Abilene. I had called them several times and they never did commit to anything so I went on about my job search. Well the lady asked if I could start work this Friday, today. I told them I was waiting for the results of my 2nd interview and I would call her back in about an hour to tell her something. Well I called her back in a hour and had not been able to get hold of the paper. I asked her if I could pray about it that day and let her know something that afternoon and she said she had another number she could call if I didn't take it then because she had to do something that day. I told her that was ok I would pray about it and if she had filled the position by the time I called back then I would understand. So basically what I got from that was I didn't have time to pray about it. Strange from a church.
Anyway, I finally heard from the paper that afternoon and they went with someone else. Bummer. I called the church back and she said she had not filled the position yet and could I start Friday morning at 10 am. Sure can no problem. Yay, a job.
Well come 5:15 that evening I get a call from the church and she said she was sorry to have to call and tell me this but I would not be working there after all. The girl that was going to quit isn't after all.
Now what kind of crap on a cracker is that??
Sooooo..........

Not so blue anymore...
Ok, so it was Mason being gone so long that contributed to my blue spell. He is home now and it is much better.
I had an interview with the Reporter News on Tuesday and it went well. They even called me back for a second interview this coming Monday. I am praying I am what they are looking for. It is a part time position as receptionist. this will be a good fit for my schedule with Mason and still be employed. YAY GOD!
I did have to tell Mason about his poor little Guinea pigs when he came home. He was very upset. Understandably. But, he brought a new pet home with him. A baby red eared slider turtle he found on his first day in Arkansas. That has helped his grieving alot. The turtle is going to be so much easier for me to have to take care of than more furry critters.
Be praying for my job situation. I love all of you that read, and those that don't.

Meloncholy/ Blue? Whatever it is
I have really been in kind of a funk lately and it is driving me crazy. At first I though it was just finances or business, or any number of other things, but I think I must just be missing Mason something terrible. He has been gone to Arkansas for 1 week and 3 days and won't be back for 5 more days. I am not liking being away from him so much.
I have to find a way to tell him when he gets home that his guinea pigs died of heat stroke and I know he will be upset about it and will probably be mad at me. I was supposed to take care of them for him whhile he was gone. It has just been so super hot. I feel really bad about it. I think that has added to my funk.
I am very actively seeking employment. If anyone knows of anything that might be available, please let me know. I am having a hard time because of some stupid stuff i did years ago. Our past does follow us for a very long time.
Hopefully a barbeque with the Wilsons and a trip to the lake this weekend will help. I am really looking forward to both.
I am praying for guidence and God's hand to be in all I do. I know He is always there, I just don't always hear Him.
Any other ideas on how to get out of this "mood"??

I didn't tag anyone on that last one because everyone I know has already been tagged. Although I do not see Annie's or Cherith's post on it yet. :)
I guess I wasn't so good at blogging some little something everyday after all. Oh well. Maybe that should have been on my "I wish I could do" list.

Every Kiss begins with K
I almost forgot something that Mason said last night when we were watching tv. The commercial came on for Kay Jewlers and when it said "Every kiss begins with Kay" He said "No it doesn't French kiss doesn't" Now where in the world does a 10 year old learn that?
It was pretty funny, but it sure made me think about how fast they grow up.

Random catch up post
Well, It has been about a year and ahalf since I blogged anything. I am really terrible at it.
Life is so crazy sometimes, I think I would explode if I actually tried to remember it long enough to write it down. But I wil try to get this thing going again and try to at least write something everyday.
Today I will start with "I am thankful for all my friends and family and that we are all God's favorite.

Random Stuff
I ran into Tim the other day at Wal Mart and he wanted to know why I have not blogged lately.
There is no real reason other than I just have not felt all that great since starting treatment. I will have to continue the treatment for up to a year. The good news I got so far is that the liver enzymes, white cells, red cells and plateletts at the normal levels. This means that the treatment is working like it is supposed to. AMEN AND AMEN.
On other fronts, we had a wonderful Christmas with Bridgett and her family and are heading to Midland Saturday to spend some time with my mother, grandfather and aunts.
Not much other news at the moment, but I am looking forward to rejoining "Blogville"

Dancing With God
My mother sent me this and I was thinking as I was reading it, how wonderful it would be to just let God lead and to dance with Him through all of our trials. Because with Him all things are possible and He will never leave us on the dance floor.
This is amazing that someone even though of this!
Dancing With God
When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".
"God, "u" and "i" dance."
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
and to guide you through each season of your life.
This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.
If God has done anything for you in your life,
please share this message with someone else.
There is no cost but a lot of rewards;
so let's continue to pray for one another.
And I Hope You Dance !

HEY! Check this out!!!!!
A little of what is going on
I have been really busy for someone who does not have a job anymore.
My boss at Gregory Custom Homes came into my office on Wednesday last week and told me he was going to have to let me go. He said he had more going out than coming in so he could not afford to keep me there. So after 5 years with the same company, I am now free to pursue other ventures.
So far, since I have been "unemployed", I have filed for unemployment benefits, had lunch with my husband two days in a row, bid three jobs and met the new construction manager for a company we do some fire and water restoration for.
I have not really had time to get bored yet and I know God has set this time aside for me to start treatment. Not sure exactly when that will be, as my Dr is leaving Texas at the end of October and I will probably have to start all over with another Dr. Pray this occurs soon.
God is good in all things and He will take care of all the "loose ends" we seem to see in our lives.
He blesses us richly everyday.

Just a friendly reminder.
Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.
Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together .
Heavenly Father, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.

God is wonderful, Amen!
Well, not too sure where to start.
Around the first of August...
We finally got our permanent loan in place for our house. Thank God, AMEN. YAY!!!!!
This means a bill we were not used to having, but God gave us the house, He will provide for it to be paid for, too.
Then the second week of August Mike signed up for an insurance adjuster class in Arlington. He has had this on his heart to do for some time. So here goes another expense, for the class and getting him there and his stay while he is gone. This, thankfully, we were able to have enough for him to do .
Monday and Tuesday of the third week Mike had a meeting with a guy he has been talking to about a shop on S. 11th and Oak that he has had his eye on for over a year.
Well, the guy said if Mike would help him remove some oil storage tanks from the ground on the property then he would finance the shop to him with no down payment and no payments for 6 months. Totally awesome and wonderful. Mike needs a shop to operate his business out of, there is just not enough room in our house or our yard.
Then last Friday Mike comes to my shop with a new truck and God provided the down payment for it,we will have to pay for that of course, but we have time to pay it out at least. He has needed one for so long it was definitely time. the old one was just not productive for his work. But that adds another bill we are not used to paying
On top of the busyness of all that...
I had been to the Dr for a check up after my stay in the hospital back in May. He did some blood work and told me I needed to go see a gastroenterologist, I know it is a very long word. So I went and talked to him and he sent me to the lab for more blood work. I had wait for three weeks to go back for the results and when he looked at my chart he said they did not do the one test he really needed. So back I go to the lab. I really do not like that place, but .... Anyway so three weeks later( Tuesday 8/28/07) I go back and the results show that I have to start a treatment program that 1) Is very expensive, but since I have no insurance he thinks the drug mfg will cover costs 2) Is very aggressive, similar to chemo 3) Has only about 45% - 50 % chance of working and 4) has the terrible side effect of depression. So we will keep praying for no side effects and complete healing. None of the blood tests will be covered by the drug company, only the medication and the blood testing is very expensive.
On this last visit I was informed that the Dr I am seeing there is leaving to move to NM October 31st. Very nerve wracking, to say the least.
I had been thinking about my hospital bill from May and when I got home last Saturday I had a notice in the mail saying that my entire bill from May, over $12,000, had been taken care of.
GOD IS SO GOOD AND WONDERFUL!!!

Man what a busy and exciting week we have had!!!!

Such a cheesey smile. :)

(here are some pictures from my phone of the game and mason's new go cart)

Such a cheesey smile. :)
Aaahhhhh! the joy if that sticky, sweet cotton candy.
SATURDAY
We got to go to NRH2O water park out by Hurst with Amanda, Jennifer, Bridgett and all their kids. there were 13 of us in all. Everyone had a blast. We all go a little bit sunburned, but it was way worth it.
SUNDAY
We gave Mason a go cart for his birthday ( a little bit early). He was grinning from ear to ear when we pulled in to the yard at my work and he saw Charlie and Mike with it. Pauline and her brother were there, too so they really all had a good time riding.
TUESDAY
Take me out to the ballgame.....
We got tickets for the Texas Ranger game against Kansas City (Rangers 7- KC 6) Yay. This we got to do with the Wilsons. Not all 7 of them, just four. But it was a lot of fun. it was really nice to get to do something exciting in the middle of the week with friends from Abilene. Lura and Cheyenne also went with us. Lura's birthday was Tuesday, so she really thought it was cool.
FRIDAY
Well, that has not happened yet, but Mason, Mike and I are going to Midland to see Shelby and Cody, two more of my grand kids that have birthdays this week...... Will post later on these
All in all Mason and Lura said this was their best birthday ever.

Exciting weekend ahead!!
I have been instant messaging with my friend Amanda and she is rubbing off on me.
Let me start by saying we are going to the NRH20 water park tomorrow. Now my friend Amanda is a really organized person with all the lists and everything packed three days ahead of time and allthat but not me, oh no, I wait until the last minute(meaning on the way to the car) to do stuff and it seems to work out really well for me. But today I caught myself telling her I have to go home and get stuff ready for the trip tomorrow. Now how crazy is that.
Anyway we are all really excited about the upcoming adventure.
There will be 15 of us with the younges being 3 and the oldest being, not sure if it will be my husband or Amanda's mom I think they are really close, anyway, we are going to have soooooo much fun.
I can't wait!!!!
Oh,yeah, I forgot, we also have to get up about an hour earlier than we do for work even. Now how insane is that.
We leave Clyde at 7:15am.

Oh,yeah, I forgot, we also have to get up about an hour earlier than we do for work even. Now how insane is that.

Garage Sale Update
Well, we did it! We had our garage sale.
Of course we could have done alot better if we had been able to start at 7:00am.
We started at 9:00 am on Saturday, but now we know.
Amanda did a little better than I did. YAY, Amanda!!!
I did make a very big dent in the storage building, problem now is the rest of it is still in my driveway.
We will be doing it again about the first seekend in September.
I may even have a mini garage sale the weekend of the 25th. But we will see about that.
Hey, I have a pool in my back yard in case anyone wants to pull together or volunteer. ha!
You really can come keep us company, though. And use the pool of course.

If it were only that easy...
Ok now I am going to be hooked on this post thing.
Mason and I had stopped at the Walgreens yesterday morning so I could get change for a $20 because he had to have some money for the rec center where he goes in the summer. When the change came out of the little chute Mason picked it up and I told him he could have it.
Well, when I picked him up yesterday afternoon he pulled the change out of his lunch box and told me "Mom, you're lucky" and I asked him why and he said " Because you got one of these" He held up a wheat penny and I told him what it was and what year it was and so forth. A few minutes later he said "Oh, so we can buy wheat with it?" I told him i guessed that we could and then he asked me "How do we buy wheat" I though about it for a little while and told him I thought maybe we could gather all our wheat pennies and buy wheat stocks.....
Anybody know how to go about doing that?
I mean, if I can get him to start doing little things like that maybe by the time he has a family of his own he will understand how to invest and save and see the fruit of his labor. Could be a good lesson in this...
